The rules for using Baanto. Last updated 30 July 2026.

By creating a Baanto account or using the app or this website you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use Baanto. You must be at least 13 years old to use Baanto.

Baanto is a noticeboard. It lets neighbours offer surplus food, and later other household items, to each other. We are not a shop, a restaurant, a delivery service, a charity or an agent for either person in a handover. We do not inspect, prepare, store, transport, test or guarantee anything that is listed.

Every handover is a private arrangement between two adults who have chosen to meet. Baanto is not a party to it.

Food listed on Baanto must be offered free of charge. Asking for money, credit, a swap or any other consideration for food is not allowed and may result in your account being removed. Cash may only ever be involved in non-food listings, in the version of the app where that feature is available.

Only offer food you would be happy to eat yourself. Describe it honestly, including when it was prepared, how it has been stored, and whether it contains common allergens such as egg, dairy, nuts or meat. Do not list food that is spoiled, expired, or has been left unrefrigerated for an unsafe length of time.

Do not list anything illegal, stolen, counterfeit, recalled or unsafe, and never list medicines, alcohol, weapons, live animals or anything else prohibited under Pakistani law.

Look at what you are being given before you take it. Ask questions. You are free to decline anything for any reason. You accept that you are choosing to take food prepared in someone else's home or business, and that you take responsibility for deciding whether it is suitable for you and your household.

Use Baanto to arrange handovers, and for nothing else. Do not harass, threaten, abuse or intimidate anyone. Do not use chats for advertising, dating, begging, political campaigning or spam. Do not ask another user for their CNIC, bank details, a verification code or a payment to reserve an item. Do not attempt to meet someone at their home unless they have specifically offered that.

We may suspend or remove an account that breaks these rules, without notice where it is necessary to protect someone.

You keep ownership of the photos and text you post. By posting them you give us permission to display them inside the app and to store them for as long as needed to run the service. You confirm that the content is yours to post and does not infringe anyone else's rights.

We may remove any listing that breaks these terms or that we reasonably believe to be unsafe.

Where a non-food item is offered for cash on pickup, the transaction happens entirely in person and entirely between the two of you. Baanto does not process payments, does not hold funds, does not verify either person, and cannot refund, guarantee or arbitrate any part of that transaction.

Baanto is provided as it is. To the fullest extent permitted by Pakistani law, we are not liable for illness, injury, loss or damage arising from food or items shared through the app, from the conduct of any user, from a meeting arranged through the app, or from any private payment between users. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Use the report option in the app so that the report is linked to the listing and the chat, or email contact@baanto.pk. If you believe a crime has been committed or you are in danger, contact the police on 15.

You may delete your account at any time from within the app. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, is used fraudulently, or puts other people at risk.

We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page will change and, for significant updates, we will tell you in the app. Continuing to use Baanto after that means you accept the new terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of Pakistan, and the courts of Pakistan have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
